Bitmap vs jpeg - Guild Wars Forums

It seems that at some point my screenshots stopped being bitmaps and started being jpegs.

I'd much rather have bitmaps, for the quality - I can always compress into jpeg, or png or whatever if space is an issue.

Is there a way to restore the old behaviour and take bitmap screenies?

Nope, in an update they changed it so all screenshots are automatically jpegs.

Yes. Add -bmp to your shortcut command line.

Mine have always been .bmp and I never used a command line switch

You should go back, and do a new picture and check

Actually, it's quite possible some people still get .bmp images without tampering with the command lines. My friend has this problem - he even re-installed the game a couple of times to try to fix it, and emailed support. Nothing helped.

I prefer bitmaps too. It's true that they take up more space, but they're less blurry and altogether better for Photoshopping than .jpg.
